The in-house creative department’s primary goal is to support all internal departments’ needs for art and design, using central brands and visual themes established for the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team.  The graphic design intern is responsible for layout, design and production on miscellaneous projects from start to finish. The designer plays an important role in producing both original and brand-conscious designs.

Reports to:   Position reports directly to the Creative Services Department Director.

Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Design and layout of the Thunder print ads.
• Design and production on many team-related projects (including publications, brochures, direct mail, poster design, specialty advertising, invitations, outdoor campaigns, website graphics, etc.)
• Communicates with outside print vendors, relaying specifications for pricing information, proofing and press-checks.
• Fulfills a key role in maintaining print budgets.
• Understands various methods of printing and the steps by which digital artwork becomes a printed piece.
• Serves as an authority in regards to logo usage, graphic standards, etc. Oversees outside entities’ use of organization’s logos and enforces the rules of use.
• Has the ability to ensure all deadlines are met in a timely manner, considering all steps from concept to delivery.
• Capable of working on multiple design projects at a given time.
• Assisting in maintaining and establishing design department policies.
• Exhibits the ability to work under pressure.
• Displays an awareness of new design trends, techniques and technology.
• Multiple rounds of editing on designs in progress.

• Print budget management. 
• Detailed knowledge of Creative Suite 3 on the Macintosh platform working primarily in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Knowledge of HTML and Flash a plus. 
• Pursuing two-year or four-year college degree, preferably in graphic design/fine art.
